# IsPixelWorking: guide for AI agents

IsPixelWorking is a free checker for ad tracking. A person pastes a landing page URL; a browser in the EU visits the page
twice (before cookie consent, and arriving from a Meta ad with consent accepted and clicks on the main buttons; monitoring
plans add a phone visit) and the report shows whether the Meta Pixel works: consent handling, duplicate events, event IDs,
click ID storage and signs of server-side tracking. Audience: marketers, media buyers, online store owners and agencies.

## What you can use

- Overview for language models: https://ispixelworking.com/llms.txt
- How the check works, scoring and limits: https://ispixelworking.com/methodology
- Step-by-step fix guides for each finding: https://ispixelworking.com/guides
- What our browser does on other sites and how to opt out: https://ispixelworking.com/bot

All of these pages are public and server-rendered; no sign-in is needed to read them.

Every public page also has a Markdown version: request the page's own URL with `Accept: text/markdown`, or append
`.md` to its path (`/index.md` for the home page). Links in it are absolute.

## MCP server

IsPixelWorking has a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP, no sign-in): `https://ispixelworking.com/mcp`.

- `check_page`: check a page (usually the landing page the ads point to) and wait for the result, about 20 to 60
seconds. A result from the last 24 hours is reused; `recheck: true` starts a fresh check once the last one is an
hour old (use it after a fix is deployed).
- `get_report`: read a report by id or link: grade, problems with explanations and evidence, fix guide links,
  checklist.
- `get_fix_guide`: the step-by-step guide for a problem, for the site's platform (Framer, Shopify, Webflow,
WordPress) or a consent tool (Cookiebot, CookieYes, OneTrust, Usercentrics, Complianz).
- `list_findings`: every problem the check can report.

Add it to Claude Code with `claude mcp add --transport http ispixelworking https://ispixelworking.com/mcp`; other
clients take the same URL. Discovery: `https://ispixelworking.com/mcp/server-card` (MCP Server Card),
`/.well-known/ai-catalog.json`, `/.well-known/mcp.json`.

New checks are limited per IP address and per day, and agent checks have a shared daily cap; cached results are free.
With an API key from an IsPixelWorking account (header `Authorization: Bearer ipw_…`) checks count against the account's
plan, and monitoring plans add `list_monitored_pages`, `recheck_monitored_page` and `add_monitored_page`. Setup for
Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code: https://ispixelworking.com/ai-agents

Please check pages the person you help is responsible for, not lists of other people's sites.

## Running a check in a browser

The form on https://ispixelworking.com/ is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile and needs a person in a browser. To hand a
check to a person, open https://ispixelworking.com/check?url=<page address> in their browser: the check starts once
Turnstile confirms a person is there, and the report opens when it is ready. `/api/` is internal and not stable.

Reports live at `/r/<id>`. They are unlisted (anyone with the link can view them) and excluded from crawling: do not
collect or republish them.

## Etiquette

- Identify your agent in the User-Agent header.
- Respect robots.txt. Do not probe `/admin` or `/api/`; use the MCP server instead.
- Findings describe technical behaviour, not legal compliance; please do not present them as legal advice.
